We collect dried and tinned produce as well as toiletries and cleaning items which are made into parcels to give out to those in financial hardship and vunerable within our local communities - download a full list of items we can accept.
2016 has been a busy year for the Resource, in which we have seen a total of 793 food parcels going out. 727 of these being individual bags and 66 being family packs.
There has also been a rise in the demand for household and toiletry packs and 97 of these have gone out this year.
Usually we receive client referrals from Job Centres, Social Services, Local Authority Crisis Units, Schools and Childrens Centres, Homeless Shelters and Benefit Centres, Refuges and Vulnerable adult organisations.
We are a purely voluntary based organization and are open for contributions and collections:
Monday 1.30pm to 3.30pm and
Friday 10.00am to 12.00pm
We operate on a client collection only policy but deliveries can be arranged in some circumstances upon request.
Update for December 2016
As an exercise one of our team members had a go at working out what the cost would be if the Resource had to supply all the food parcels itself. He roughly priced up the cost of an individual bag and timed it by 727, then he did the same for the family packs and timed them by 66 after that he did the household and toiletries and it came out at over a staggering £15,000. Yes fifteen THOUSAND pounds. So as a team we want to say a huge THANK YOU to everyone who has so generously supported the Resource this year.
We are very much aware as a team that we could not do this valuable work without your support.
Thank you too to the Schools and churches of Ossett who have been so generous with Harvest and Christmas Donations.
